- Laminate Film: The clear plastic film used in the laminating process. It comes in different thicknesses, finishes (gloss or matte), and types (heat - activated or pressure - sensitive).
- Roller: The cylindrical components of the laminating machine that apply pressure and, in the case of heat - activated laminators, also transfer heat to bond the laminate to the material.
- Jam: A situation where the material or laminate gets stuck or clogged in the laminating machine, usually due to improper feeding, incorrect material size, or a mechanical problem.
- Pouch Lamination: A laminating method using pre - cut laminate pouches. The material is inserted into the pouch, and the pouch is then laminated using a pouch laminator.
- Heat - activated Adhesive: The adhesive on the laminate film that is activated by heat in heat - activated laminating machines to bond the laminate to the material.
